Overview

No two places are the same in Nepal. On one day, you might find yourself marveling at elegant temples, radiant stupas and the next, you could be rubbing shoulders with mischievous monkeys or trying to spot Bengal tigers playing within the foliage. Whatever floats your boat, Nepal has something for you, and this 10-night tour will show you the crème de la crème of this central Himalayan country.

Located in Southern Asia, Nepal is a touristy bubble bursting with spectacular hiking routes and eight of the world’s highest peaks, including Everest. Lush, green mountains and sparkling lakes make for a concoction that’s irresistible to tourists and visitors, who find themselves drawn in by its cultural charm and religious heritage. Temples are ten a penny, and the lifestyle is so unique and rich with flavor and age-old customs that it’s hard not to fall in love with the Nepalese way of life.

Beginning in Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital, your trip will lead you deep into the very heart of Nepali culture. As you mingle with the monkeys at the Monkey Temple, one of the most sacred Buddhist sites, and pay a visit to the Boudha Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world, you’ll come to understand why this country has such a rich history. You’ll step foot into the Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the Lord of Animals, and then wander Durbar Square’s palaces and temples, including the Kasthamandap, also known as the “Wooden House.” The square, sprinkled with merchants and devotees during the early hours, is Nepal’s most popular UNESCO World Heritage Site (and rightly so!).

Then, swap the urban vibes of Kathmandu with Pokhara, the second largest city in Nepal and your next stop. As the starting point for many of the treks to the Annapurna Mountain Range, Pokhara is a lively hub of culture vultures and hiking enthusiasts. It is also home to the Phewa Lake, one of Nepal’s most idyllic spots, perfect for rowing across and gazing at the mesmerizing views of the towering peaks and dense forests which surround it.

After Pokhara, you will visit Chitwan National Park, whose 932 square kilometers are a haven for Bengal tigers, leopards, crocodiles, monkeys and more. Keep your eyes peeled for these sensational beasts, as well as the endangered one-horn rhinos, which roam the plump grassland. In addition to marveling at the colorful flora and fauna, you can also go on elephant rides, jungle canoeing, nature walks, tiger and rhino-viewing. Here you will spend two nights at the Jungle Villa, a leafy location right in the thick of all the glorious flora and fauna.

When you finally tire of Chitwan National Park charm, you’ll head to Bandipur, another hill-top town offering an abundance of hiking routes and fabulous views from elevated viewpoints. The quaint Old Inn in Bandipur will also be your home for a night, before hitting the road to Nagarkot where you’ll settle for two nights.

Nagarkot, a town located 32 km from Kathmandu which offers may be the best views of the Himalayas in all of the Bhaktapur District, as well as a panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley. At sunrise, watch as Mount Everest and other peaks of the Himalayan range come into view, startlingly crystal clear, and then head off for a hike into the heart of all of this incredibly beautiful nature.

A gold-plated roof, four silver doors, and wood carvings of the finest quality decorate the pagoda temple of Pashupatinath. Temples dedicated to several other Hindu and Buddhist deities surround the temple of Pashupatinath. Nearby is the temple of Guheshwori dedicated to Shiva's consort Sati Devi. Behind the temple is the River Bagmati. On the banks of Bagmati are raised platforms used as cremation sites for Hindus. Only Hindus are allowed inside the Pashupatinath courtyard.
The temple starts swarming with devotees around 4 am every morning. However the top of the hill to the east of the temple is the ideal place for the non Hindu visitor to view the temple, its rich surroundings, and below on the edge of the Bagmati river the ghats where the dead are brought to be cremated.

Its colossal and ancient stupa is regarded as one of the world’s biggest stupa and has been built on a stepped octagonal base and inset with alcoves representing Buddha and his teachings. After Chinese invasion in 1959, Tibetans in thousands came to this famous Buddhist Chaitya and energized the stupa. The stupa is surrounded by various temples or 'gompas'. The atmosphere of the whole place lightens up with zest as fragrance of incense drifts through the air. Chanting of monks and creaking of prayer wheels can be heard while strolling around the base. It is one of the prime sites for pilgrims and tourists in the country.

Your journey of a lifetime begins in New Delhi. Arrive at the international airport, where you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. It is recommended that you spend your first evening at leisure in your hotel to recuperate from your international journey. Few places on earth combine beauty, history and escapism to such dazzling effect as the great city of Delhi- the sprawling and fascinating capital of India. The title “A Tale of Two Cities” is apt as Delhi bridges together two different worlds. The Old Delhi, once the capital of Islamic India, contrasts with the British-built center of New Delhi. On this journey you will scratch the surface and discover a land sprinkled with dazzling gems of India’s “golden” legacy.

OVERNIGHT IN DELHI.

After breakfast, your visit will include a tour of Old Delhi and the immense Jama Masjid, the greatest mosque in India. You will also see the legendary Red Fort and Raj Ghat where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. Finally, awaken the senses with a thrilling rickshaw ride through the busy markets of Chandni ChowkAlso visit Rajghat - memorial of Mahatma Gandhi & go on a rickshaw ride through the silver street in Chandni Chowk.

New Delhi offers a fascinating contrast: here, you will walk the wide, straight boulevards and pass the monuments of the Empire. Walking the imperial residence, Rashtrapati Bhavan, to the mighty arch of India Gate, designed by Edwin Lutyens in the 1920s, the eternal flame burns day and night to remember the soldiers in the Indo-Pakistan war. Continue to the Laxmi Narayan TempleHumayun’s Tomb and the Qutub Minar. Another highlight is the Bahai Temple with its lotus dome.

OVERNIGHT IN DELHI.

After breakfast, you will start your adventure by driving to the city of Jaipur. On arrival, check into your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Jaipur, founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, is a dusky pink pearl sitting elegantly on the edge of the desert. Rose painted Mughal palaces slope to the old town’s bazaars, filled with textiles and jewelry. We have lined up an evening of drama and atmosphere at the world-famous Light and Sound Show, which is an entertaining way to discover the history of Amber Fort and Jaipur. Scripted by renowned Bollywood filmmaker Gulzar and performed near Maota Lake, folk music and colorful lighting combine to bring to life the historical legends revolving round the 28 kings of the Kachwaha dynasty.

OVERNIGHT IN JAIPUR.

After breakfast, explore the splendor of Amber Fort, set on a rugged hill with impressive yellow sandstone battlements and a craggy facade. It was built to protect against any threat from the Mongol invaders. Once guarded by the Mughal armies, the steep lane up towards the fort is now lined with red and gold decorated elephants patrolling the ancient kingdom. Want to enter the fort from exceptional heights? A delightful elephant ride is just the ticket, which will lead you up the hill to the main entrance. Later you will drive past the Hawa Mahal. In the afternoon visit the City Palace and museum, before continuing to Jantar Mantar, a structural masterpiece displaying the science of early Indian architecture.

OVERNIGHT IN JAIPUR.

Romance is in the air as we arrive at the Taj Mahal at the brink of dawn. Discover a love poem in stone as you behold the sight of the sun striking its glowing cupid arrow onto the dome that radiates like a giant golden trinket. Taj Mahal cannot be left out of India’s Golden Triangle! The finest example of archaeological brilliance, it is the country’s most famous attraction. Traveler Eleanor Roosevelt said that its white marble “symbolizes the purity of real love.” The Taj was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan as the resting place for his beloved Queen Mumtaz Mahal. What else but great love could have inspired such outstanding beauty?

OVERNIGHT IN AGRA.

After breakfast, you will head towards Delhi via the newly built Taj Expressway. You will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.

End of the tour!

Also known as Bhadgoan, this place was founded in the 9th Century and is shaped like a conch shell. The city is at the height of 4600 ft. above sea level. In Bhadgaon, you will visit the Durbar Square with its array of temples overlooked by the Palace of 55 windows built by King Bupatindra Malla. The Nyatapola Temple, also built by King Bhupatindra Malla, is the best example of Pagoda style and stands on five terraces on each of which stands a pair of figures - two famous strong men, two elephants, two lions, two griffins and two goddesses. Time permitting, a visit to the museum of Thanka painting can also be considered.
    Pashupatinath Temple-
Pashupatinath is one of the four most important religious sites in Asia for Shiva devotees. Pashupatinath, dedicated to Shiva the Destroyer, is the holiest Hindu pilgrimage destination in Nepal. Although the Pashupatinath Temple was only built in the fifth century and later renovated by Malla kings, the holy site is said to have existed from the beginning of the millennium.
    Bouddhanath Stupa-
Boudhanath epitomizes Tibetan Buddhism. It lies 8 kms East of Kathmandu and was built by Licchavis King Man Dev in the 5th century A. D.

  • 13Day
    Delhi

  • 14Day
    Delhi-Jaipur

  • 15Day
    Jaipur City Tour

    Jaipur-Agra (Taj Mahal Visit)
